This designs story will give the receiver the feeling when you have to “break out” from being a child to an adult, when flying from the nest. The design should (hopefully) have the effect of showing children that it is a beautiful thing to break out, because this is where we form the person we dream of being.
My inspiration
I got my inspiration from a flower museum in Copenhagen Denmark, it is a very magical place to get away from the busy days in the city. The birds where inside cages and I wanted to set them free, this is where my “Break Out” statement comes from.
My process
In this project I have been working with a laser cutter, a silk flower iron and metal. These materials help to experiment with the “break out” statement. The metal especially gave my a new perspective on the experiments, combined with the textiles.
